Bloated or Gas issue

Hello, I'm not sure if my 3-year-old dog has gas or is bloated(GDV) for about 1 week now. I plan to take him to get looked at next week, but sure I can't afford the $4000-$8000 for surgery if he has GDV. I'm feeding him very little hoping his bellow will go down, no sign yet. He eats but has a swollen belly. I read that it was okay to give him Pepto Bismol to help, so I have been doing that. And I am aware how serious this could be if it is GDV.

Yes Pepto Bismol is ok. Is he eating in an elevated bowl? You might want to remove it.

oh my God, did you try to feed him different food? Natural food will be better. Hope he can be better.

I switched to Kibble & Bits and this happened. I'm now researching and finding that a lot of people are having this issue after feeding their dogs Kibble & Bits. I don't know, but I will be contacting the company.

I'm doing a lot of home remedies because I can't afford the surgery.

Kibble & Bits Is full of grains, soy, colours. There’s barely any protein in it. That’s your issue right there. Get him off that kibble. If you can’t do raw, go with Acana, Zignature, Open Farm………

Btw, what do you mean by home remedies? What are they?

Kibble & Bits Is full of grains, soy, colours. There’s barely any protein in it. That’s your issue right there. Get him off that kibble. If you can’t do raw, go with Acana, Zignature, Open Farm………

Yeah, I figured the Kibbles & Bits is the issue. The bag says 19% or 20% protein.

Agree.. get off the kibble and bits…
Do a bland diet for a few days then switch to a higher quality kibble. Zingnature duck or turkey… Earthborn holistic is good and not too expensive. The better the food the less vet visits
